East Midlands SSE (EMSSE) was established in 2002/3 by a consortium of organisations, led by Notts Rural Community Council, including the East Midlands Development Agency (who also provided development funding), Mansfield District Council, Nottinghamshire Business Link, Leicester Housing Association and Social Enterprise East Midlands. EMSSE is an independently constituted organisation, which has since forged further links with other local and regional organisations including the Scarman Trust, Leicester CAN and the Development Trusts Association, as well as delivering contracts for local social enterprise partnerships.

EMSSE has delivered programmes to over 100 students from across the region over the past 5 years, including an entrepreneurs and advisors programme in Notts and Leics, and a cultural entrepreneurs programme in Derby.

For details of its current programme(s), see  Activities and News below.

• Explore the potential of social enterprise and learn practical new skills
• Develop as a leader - personally and professionally
• Network and benefit from the experience of other social entrepreneurs
• Get access to their own personal tutor
• Visit local, successful social enterprises
