Social Enterpise Ambassador awards mark to SSE Fellow

School for Social Entrepreneurs Fellow Chris Dabbs has become the first SSE Fellow to receive the Social Enterprise Mark and the first social enterprise in the whole of the North West. Chris is Chief Executive of Unlimited Potential, a social enterprise which provides innovative health and wellbeing services in Salford, and was presented with the Mark by Social Enterprise Ambassador Daniel Heery.

Chris has been involved in social enterprise and social entrepreneurship for many years, having attended the first ever SSE programme in 1998. He went on to run the first pilot programme outside London in Salford, which proved to be a crucial step for the organisation in proving that the methodology and approach could work outside of the capital. He is now widely acknowledged as one of the leading authorities on social enterprise and healthcare in the country.

The Social Enterprise Mark is an initiative that began in the South West of the country, and is a fair trade-style identity that social enterprises can apply to use. Customers can be sure that organisations carrying the mark are using their profits to tackle a social or environmental need and are governed in a way that benefits their communities.

Chris Dabbs, CEO of Unlimited Potential, says "We reinvest all of our profits for our social mission. Social enterprise is a better way of doing business, and the Social Enterprise Mark enables us to show people that we are truly motivated for society and the environment"

Nick Temple, Policy and Communications Director at the School for Social Entrepreneurs, says: "Chris has long been a passionate and knowledgeable social entrepreneur, and one committed to both his local area and to social enterprise as a means of making change. SSE is hugely proud of his achievements, and look forward to seeing Unlimited Potential thrive in the years ahead."
